About Steve & Gwen
Stephen W. Smith and his wife Gwen are the Co-Founders of the Christian ministry Potter’s Inn. Steve and Gwen have been married since 1980 and spent 32 years ministering together to the hearts of people around the world.
Steve was educated at Lenoir Rhyne College, NC, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, KY, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, IL. Steve has pastored churches in KY, NC and the Netherlands. As a speaker, spiritual director, author and companion, Steve offers soul care and spiritual care through many avenues. Gwen was educated at UNC - Charlotte, NC in Nursing and Denver Seminary, CO, where she fulfilled the 2 year program for Soul Care. She is a Registered Nurse and retreat leader and offers spiritual direction and soul care.
Steve and Gwen lead retreats throughout the world for leaders in the marketplace, as well as ministry. A focus for Steve and Gwen is their work with individuals and couples in “Soul Care Intensives” – a private retreat with leaders. Steve and Gwen focus much of their time and work with missionaries. Gwen is a Third Culture Kid (TCK -Ethiopia) and together they lived overseas in Europe, planting churches before the fall of Communism.
Steve and Gwen have four adult sons, three daughters-in-law, and a growing tribe of grandchildren! Steve enjoys a cup of strong brewed coffee and a brisk walk on a trail. Gwen enjoys dark, roasted, French Press coffee and a piece of dark chocolate in the afternoons. Their dog, Laz, is a constant companion at their home in Divide, CO.
ABOUT POTTER’S INN
Our name, Potter’s Inn, is based on the timeless image of the potter forming the clay. The Lord is the Potter and we are the clay (Isaiah 64:8). Our clay is marred. Potter’s Inn was established to help guide people to experience reshaping from the Divine Potter’s hands.
